45-year-old man Stabs Son, Kills self Chopping off Private Parts
Puttur: A 45-year-old man who killed himself after attacking his 20-year-old son in the Kadaba police station limits has been reported here on September 12.
The deceased has been identified as Rajeev Poojary (45) from Alankar Puttur.
According to sources, Rajeev was mentally unstable and on September 12, Rajeev had a verbal fight with his son Rathan. Angered by it, Rajeev stabbed Rathan. The locals then shifted Rathan to the hospital.
Rajeev and his wife Jayanthi had separated. Jayanthi was staying with her elder son Rathan and Rajeev was staying with his younger son Kiran. Recently Kiran died due to some health issues, since then Rajeev was mentally unstable. Rajeev used to go to Jayanthi’s house every day to feed the cows.
On September 12, when Rajeev had come to Jayanthi’s house, Rathan told his father to sell the coconuts as there was good demand and would get a good price. But all of a sudden Rajeev attacked Rathan with a sickle. Immediately Rathan and Jayanthi ran away and took shelter in Sheenappa’s house.
Hearing the news, Rajeev’s parents Sheenappa and Dejamma went to Jayanthi’s house to check on Rajeev. But when they reached there, they found Rajeev in a pool of blood. Rajeev chopped off his private parts and stabbed himself in the neck.
The Kadaba police arrived at the spot and shifted the body to the hospital.
Kadaba police have registered a case and are investigating.
