47-year-old Nanny Killed at Gundumale Estate Creche in Munnar
Mannar: A 47-year-old Nanny was hacked to death in front of tiny tots at Gundumale Estate Crèche, on February 14.
The deceased has been identified as Rajaguru (47), wife of Manikumar from Gundumale.
According to the police, there are 11 children aged 6 months to three years from Jharkhand at the Gundumale Estate Crèche. The estate labourers leave their children at the Creche and go to work. On February 14, at around 12:30 p.m, Javani Bedyi from Jharkhand, came to take her child home. But the main door and the window of the Creche were closed. While Javani went to the back side and peeped inside, she saw Rajaguru lying in the pool of blood. She immediately screamed for help, the locals gathered and rushed Rajaguru to the hospital. But Rajaguru breathed her last in the hospital.
It is suspected that miscreants had barged into the Creche and killed her for gold. The gold chain which she was wearing has been missing.
The Idukki SP K B Venugopal, Munnar DySP Aniruddan, CI Sam Jose and SI Jithesh are investigating the case. It is suspected that known people have murdered Rajuguru for gold.
