5 Arrested by CCB Police, Rs 19.5 Lakh Worth items including Cocaine Seized
Mangaluru: The CCB police have arrested drug peddlers in City here on August 17.
The arrested have been identified as Vijesh Kumar (34) from Kasargod, Nithin (35) from Puttur, Santhosh Kumar (36) from Bejai, Sundeep Kumar (34) from Bondel and Rahul (26) from Bikkarnakatta.
According to the police, on August 17, after getting information from reliable sources that four to five persons were transporting Cocaine by car and selling it to the students and public. The CCB police along with the Kadri police raided the spot and arrested five persons who were in possessing of Cocaine.
The police seized Cocaine worth Rs 60,000, seven mobile phones, a Honda Jazz and Hyundai I20 car, and cash Rs 1.02 lakh all worth Rs 19.57 lakh from their possession.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that the Cocaine was purchased in Goa and brought to Mangaluru. The accused Vijesh Kumar is a businessman, Nithin a Gym trainer, Santhosh Kumar and Rahul dealing in real estate and Sundeep working as a driver in Gulf.
Under the able guidance of Police commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and order Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth, the operation was carried out by CCB Inspector Shantharam Kundar, PSI Sham Sundar, H D Kabbalraj and Kadri Inspector Maruti Nayak and team.
