5 child beggars rescued in Udupi
Udupi: In an operation conducted by the Child Protection Centre and the Labour Department, 5 child beggars were rescued from the Service Bus Stand here, on Tuesday, July 12.
According to Project Director Prabhakar Acharya, the Child Protection Care unit and the Labour department rescued 5 child beggars hailing from the state of Rajasthan, who were begging in different places. The rescued children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee Udupi.
All the rescued children have been sent for rehabilitation to the Krishnaugraha Santhekatte, Kallianpur run by the NGO.
Anil Halli (Child Protection Care, Udupi district officer), Ramamoorthy and Prasanna Kumar (officers, Labour Department, Prabhakar Acharya, Kapil and Ambika took part in the rescue operation.
