5 Muslim Youth Risk their Lives to Save A Drowning Hindu Youth shows ‘We Are All Created Equal in God’s Eyes’
Mangaluru: The human race is God’s creation. One time, there was unification, but today, we see the difficulty in race relations. In the New Testament of the Bible, and we see in Acts 17:25-28 that God made all races and nations, all of us by one blood (verse 26) for His purposes. Like one Mortician at a Mortuary in a City hospital said, “One thing I know for sure, I have been a licensed mortician since 1975 and have never seen from embalming but one color of blood, and it is red, regardless of the color of skin”.
Better economics and more laws will never solve the problem with racism. God’s love is sacrificial – loves all and forgives all – eternally. Equality comes from God, not man. Our rights come from God, not man. Until we love God and love one another with God’s love, we cannot have acceptance of one another. Keeping aside our religion, caste or faith, we need to live in unity and help each other in times of need – and we should remember that “We Are All created Equal In God’s Eyes’.
Following on the report published in our website (Ref: 19-year-old Youth Commits Suicide by Jumping into Netravati River ), on 24 May, where a 19-year-old Nishanth Kalladka from Panemangaluru had jumped into Nethravati River in order to commit suicide- and five Muslim youth namely- Mohammed, Tousif , Zameer, Zahid and Arif P J, and who were in a festive mood of Eid-ul-fitr, noticing it sprung into action, by jumping into the river one by one, to save the drowning youth, without thinking of any race, religion or caste. Their only aim was to save the youth, and they succeeded in bringing to the bank of the river.
And even when we are all following the guidelines of social distancing and wearing face mask, but one of the Muslim youth thinking that saving a life of a human being is more important than personal life during this pandemic, went ahead and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR ), which is mouth to mouth breathing- but all the efforts put in by these five Good Samaritans/Life Savers was in vain, as Nishanth who didn’t respond to the CPR breathed his last. But we all need to praise these Five Muslim youth for their bravery and risk by jumping into the River from such a height, and for keeping aside religion, in order to save a drowning youth irrespective of caste, religion or creed. Bravo, Mohammed, Tousif, Zameer, Zahid and Arif- you all need a BIG clapping (not that kind of clapping which Indians did one Sunday?) and you are all the Brave Warriors, if not the Covid-19 Warriors!
Following close on its heels, came a controversial tweet that went viral on social media, alleging MP Shobha Karandlaje of BJP of her tweet message, stating that “Jihadis’ had killed a Hindu activist named Nishanth and had requested Amit Shah to take action against the culprits”. Meantime, MLA U T Khader had reacted to the controversial tweet and demanded clarification. However, MP Shobha Karandlaje clarifying through a in a tweet stated that it was not her who tweeted it and blamed ‘Jihadi Congress’ role in spreading false information. (Ref: Youth suicide case: MP Shobha Karandlaje clarifies after controversial tweet goes viral).
Well, keeping the controversial part apart and by not digging into it in details, this article will highlight the good deed and bravery shown by five Muslim youth is saving the life of the drowning Hindu youth, who was on the verge of committing suicide. Months ago our Country showed signs of hate and communal disturbances when people protested against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) implemented by the Central government- but thank God, for the intrusion of Coronavirus aka Covid-19 pandemic, peoples’ mind changed and hate and violence became silent. Yes, we all grew up with the phrase ‘Unity in Diversity’ and that India exemplified this and stood for it. But not anymore…it has slowly been torn apart…by those that care not for their country but only their individual avariciousness.
So much so that within a short time span they have caused rifts through lesions and broken up a unified country into one that is divided. India provided credence to the phrase and showed forth to the world of being a democratic nation. A democratic nation has people having different religion, cultures, beliefs, sects, languages and other demarcations, but they all live in unity and harmony, following a uniform law. India as a nation has been the best example of ‘Unity in Diversity’ with people of different religions and culture living together following the rule of land as per the parameters laid by the Constitution of India. People of various religions and castes have managed to live together and accept the different facets that are a part of this.
Yes, from time to time, it has given rise to various social tensions among people of different faiths and linguistic origin. It has also on many occasions given rise to the growth of corruption and illiteracy in many areas of the country, including being the reason of poor lifestyles in various rural regions because of underdeveloped infrastructures, lack of electricity, roads, etc. Through all these ups and downs, India and its people stood as one.
But now…there is a divide…people are torn…dissatisfied and disillusioned. The ties that were bound together by a string of humanity, love and respect are hanging by a thin thread due to ideologies that reek of a divisive political agenda. People’s ideologies and thoughts have been played with and with the slow brainwashing it has been easy to disintegrate India. Citizens play a very significant role in maintaining peace and prosperity in a country but when hate speeches begin to proliferate and critics are shut down, the democracy of a nation is in grave danger.
Unity in diversity plays a crucial role for the country’s development as the country which is integrated within will always prosper and progress on the path of growth and development. Unity is the feeling of togetherness and integration which holds the people together and a bond which implies a sense of oneness. Unity stands for the ties between different groups which binds them into a single entity. It could also be defined as the absence of differences between people belonging to diverse sections based on religious, linguistics or racial aspects.
In contrast, diversity refers to differences or dissimilarities. It could be defined as the collective differences between diverse groups based on religion, race or language etc. It is the variety of sections and groups residing at a geographical area with different cultures, traditions and backgrounds. Diversity is the natural phenomenon which also helps to bring different ideas, experiences and acceptance among people. Indians were the best example of this because of our age old tradition of India that taught us the importance of ethics, values, respect and tolerance.
Indians may belong to a diverse culture but they share the bond of humanity, love and respect and are tied with a single string of nationalism. The Constitution of India has provided rights and freedom to us to live our lives with dignity and respect without any interference. But now with the Government rewriting history, belligerently contesting holy sites, and passing unjustified laws, it is evident that they are pushing extremist Hindu priorities. Our country is been toxically divided via religion based politics.
India is the second most populous nation, after China as a crucial geopolitical player; a huge economy with a long secular history. But now we are known more for our poisonous atmosphere that has dehumanized minorities and inspired violence. The damage done is not short term; it is very long term which will be felt by generations to come. People’s voices need to be heard…not the cacophony by the Government. It’s time that we Indians should UNITE as ONE, irrespective of Caste, Religion and Creed- and take this example of Five MUSLIM YOUTH who showed their LOVE and CONCERN towards a HINDU YOUTH, who was committing suicide.
Great humanity shown by the youth from there. When I met with accident while Cycling. Muslims picked me from road and put me and Cycle to drop me home. When I asked how much I should pay. He said for humanity I dont charge. Hats off to them. Hats off to mr Alfie for this article.
