52-year-old Man arrested in Vittal under POCSO Act
Bantwal: A 52-year-old man was arrested on charges of attempting to rape a 6-year-old girl at Erumbu Alike here on February 19.
The arrested has been identified as Hameed from Erumbu, Alike Bantwal.
According to the Vittal police, Hameed a vendor owned a shop in Erumbu. About a month and a half ago, When the girl went to the shop to buy groceries, Hameed molested the girl. When her mother came to know about it, she stopped sending her daughter to the shop.
A week ago, the victim’s father working in the Gulf came on vacation. The victim’s mother told her husband about the incident. The father immediately filed a complaint in the Vittal police station. The police got into action and arrested Hameed on February 19.
Hameed was arrested under the POCSO act and sent to Judicial custody.
