52-year-old Man Dies after Accidentally falling into Open Well at Gangolli
Kundapura: A 52-year-old man died after he accidentally fell into an open well at Guddamadi, Kundapur on May 27.
According to the sources Walter D’Almeida had gone near the newly constructed open well. It is assumed that Walter accidentally slipped and fell into the well. Alban D’Almieda, his brother, who got down into the well to rescue him, suffered breathing difficulties.
The locals called the fire brigade and continued their efforts to rescue them with the help of police. But their efforts went in vain. Later, the fire brigade personnel with the help of the locals and the Gangolli police lifted both from the well. But Walter had already breathed his last.
Alban D’Almeida was shifted to the Government hospital, Kundapur.
