54-year-old Man Dies of COVID-19 in Thekkatte, Second Death in Udupi District
Udupi: “A 54-year-old man who had returned from Maharashtra died on June 18 due to COVID-19 at Thekkatte, taking the number of COVID-19 deaths in Udupi district to two”, said Deputy Commissioner, G Jagadeesh.
Four people had arrived from Maharashtra to Udupi district on June 18. The district administration had conducted Thermal check-up at the district receiving centre, also collected the throat swab, and then sent them for home quarantine. The 54-year-old man from Thekkatte, Kundapur suddenly collapsed in his house and died. The exact reason for his death will be confirmed only after the post mortem report. The person is confirmed to be suffering from COVID-19 through the throat swab test.
This is the second COVID-19 death in the district. A month ago, a person who had returned from Maharashtra had died of a heart attack, he too was tested positive for COVID-19.
