55-year-old Hacked to Death in Broad Daylight in Kundapur
Kundpaur: A 55-year-old man was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight at Kalkamba near Hattiyangadi under the Kundapur Rural Police Station Limits on Tuesday, December 17.
The deceased has been identified as Babu Shetty (55) son of Narasimha Shetty a resident of Valthuru near Kandlur.
According to the police, Babu Shetty was involved with agricultural work. On Tuesday, December 17 afternoon Babu Shetty had gone to Kundapur on his motorbike. The assailants chased Babu Shetty’s Bike and waylaid it Kalkamba near the forest area where they assaulted him with lethal weapons and hacked him to death.
Udupi SP Nisha James, Kundapur CPI Manjappa, Kandlur PSI visited the spot and collected necessary information. As per the preliminary investigations the police have suspected that land dispute and personal rivalry may have been the main cause for the murder.
A case has been registered in the Kundapur Rural Police Station.
