56-year-old KSRP Police Constable Hangs Himself in Amasebailu
Kundapur: A 56-year-old police constable who was appointed for the Naxal affected area in Amasebailu committed suicide by hanging himself near the police station on Friday, May 29.
The deceased has been identified as Mallikarjun Gubbi (56) a resident of Naurganj, Kalburgi district.
According to SP Vishnuvardhan Mallikarjun was working in the Indo Reserve Batallion a unit of KSRP for 29 years. He was appointed for security duty in Amasebailu Police station on May 16. On May 28 night after dinner, he had gone for rest. On May 29 morning he was missing from the police quarters, and a search was on to find him. A passerby found Mallikarjun hanging to a tree near the police station and alerted the police.
The Police suspect that due to health issues, he had committed suicide.
Mallikarjun is survived by wife and two children. A case has been registered in the Amasebailu police station.
