6 Die of COVID-19 and 132 Persons Test Positive in DK on August 9
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 6 persons have died of COVID-19, and 132 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada district on August 9.
Out of the 132 cases tested positive, 81 persons are from Mangaluru, 22 from Bantwal, 4 from Belthangady, 6 from Puttur, 3 from Sullia, and 16 from other districts.
Out of the 132 positive cases, 21 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts, 68 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), and 11 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). The health officials are tracing the contacts of 32 others.
So far 7207 positive cases have been reported in the district, and 220 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 3305 active cases in the district.
All the 132 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, 195 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
