Udupi: Asha Ramesh of Bannanje Shiribeedu here had been charged with assaulting her younger brother Purushottam wth an umbrella, while talking at home on July 29, 2012. Upon receiving a complaint, sub-inspector T S Madhu had filed a charge-sheet.
A case was being heard in the additional JMFC court here. After hearing the depositions and evidence, magistrate V N Milana found her guilty and pronounced the judgement on Friday.
The accused was ordered to pay a fine of Rs 5,000. However, considering her age of 63 years, she was ordered to adhere to good conduct for a year.
Assistant public prosecutor Mumtaz argued for the government.
