64th All India Co-operative week Inaugurated in City

Mangaluru: To mark the 64th All India Co-operative week, a district-level programme was held at the Football grounds, Nehru Maidan here on November 15.

A colourful rally “Samudayadatta Sahakara Jatha” was flagged off from the SCDCC main branch which culminated at the Nehru Maidan football grounds.

The programme began with the state Anthem. The programme was inaugurated by the Minister for Small Scale Industries Ramesh Jarkiholi. District Minister In-charge B Ramanath Rai hoisted the 64th All India Cooperative Week flag.

Addressing the gathering Ramaesh Jarakiholi said, “The Co-operative field has grown because of the co-operation from the members of the co-operative society. There is no politics in the Co-operative Society. In the Dakshina Kannada district SCDCC has special recognition because it gives priority to people from all walks of life. In the entire state, Dakshina Kannada co-operative banks are doing a wonderful job.”

Nandini products Healthy life double toned milk and 50ml and 100ml Nandini ghee Pet Jar was also launched on the occasion. Minister Pramod Madhwaraj released the co-operative bulletin. The awards were presented to various Co-operative societies for their tremendous achievements.

President of Karnataka State Co-Operative Society Shekhar Gowda V Mali Patil presided over the programme.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil, S R Sathischandra, Raviraj Hegde Kodavoor, Yashpal Suvarna, Harish Acharya and others were also present.
