65-year-old Woman falls from Terrace dies in Shaktinagar
Mangaluru: A 65-year-old woman died after she fell from the terrace while plucking beetle leaves at her residence near Cashew Factory Shakti Nagar here on November 4.
The deceased has been identified as Elizebeth Veigas nee Fernandes (65), a resident of Shaktinagar.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Elizebeth’s daughter Swarna said, “On November 4, at around 12:30 pm, my mother went to the terrace to pluck beetle leaves as she is to sell those beetle leaves at the weekly market Shanivara Santhe. I was inside the house setting the beetle leaves when my mother came in with an injury to her hand. When I applied medicine to her hand, she complained of pain in her abdomen. I immediately took her to the KMC Hospital Attavar.”
Swarna further said, “When she was in KMC hospital she vomited twice. Later the doctor suggested for a CT Scan and my mother was shifted to the KMC Hospital in Jyothi. After the CT scan, she developed pain in her chest and soon after breathed her last.”
