7 Arrested in Dacoity Case, Car and Rs 5 Lakh Seized
Mangaluru: The Kankanady Town police arrested 7 persons in connection with the dacoity case on February 7.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Sabeer(31), Mohammed Naveed alias Naveed Hussain Peera (29), Quaza Saab(28), Mohammed Nabeel Saab (31), Sayyed Hussain(32), Sayyed Fayaz (31) and Nasir Sheikh (21) all from Bhatkal.
According to the police on February 5, at around 9:30 am Asif Mohammed Naqwa from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra had come to Mangaluru by train for Fish trade with Rs 5 lakh cash. Around 6 to 7 persons came in a white Travera, snatched the bag from Asif and fled from the spot.
In this connection, a case was filed in the Kankanady Town police station. The police continuing their search operations arrested all the 7 accused and seized the Travera car bearing registration number KA 53 B 4418, cash Rs 5 lakh and mobile phones from their possession.
The operation was carried out by the Kankanady Town police Inspector Ashok P, PSI Pradeep T R, PSI Janaki, ASI Gilbert, Madan, Santhosh Vinod, Rajesh Raghuveer, Nutan, Sandeep Malathesh and Karthik.
