7 Colleges- 22 Students attend Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Programme

Mangaluru: Rotary Club of Mangalore hosted the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Programme for the 8 Clubs in our Zone 3 on Sunday the 3rd of December at the Besant Women’s College Department of P.G Studies Kodialbail Mangalore. 22 students from seven colleges took part in the programme.The colleges are IIT Gauwahati, NITK Surathkal, MIT Manipal, St. Aloysius College Mangalore, Canara College Mangalore., Besant P.G College & Govt. First Grade College Kavoor. The morning Inaugural Session was presided over by Rtn. Vasanth Shenoy President Rotary Club of Mangalore. Devanand Pai Correspondent was the Guest of Honour. Rtn. Rajendra Kalbhavi-Asst, Governor Dist. 3181 and Rtn. Madhava Suvarna Zonal RYLA Chairman were also present. Rotaract Chairman Rtn. Vinod D’souza gave the vote of thanks.

The first Ice breaking session and building self confidence and self esteem was conducted by Rtn. Mithun Bhat, followed by session on problem solving and conflict management by Sushil from Toast Masters club Mangalore. This was followed by Fundamentals of leadership by Prof. C.A Rtn. Naveen N. The afternoon session was made lively and interesting in his own inimitable style by well known play wright and actor Kasargod Chinna, on Importance of Communication skills. The last session on the topic,” What is Rotary & What it does to community” was delivered by Rtn. Divaker Pai.

For the closing session Rtn. Yashomathi RYLA Chairperson Dist 3181 gave her concluding remarks, followed by feed back by participants. Certificates of participation were handed over to all by President Rtn.Vasanth Shenoy and Youth Services Director Rtn. Dr.Siddarth Shetty. The programme concluded with the reciting of our National Anthem
