The percentage of voting till 5 pm in each Assembly constituency was as follows: Byndoor – 75.66%, Kundapura – 75.76 %, Udupi – 75.59%, Kaup – 76.08% and Karkala – 75.30 %.
Karnataka Assembly Elections : 63.39 percent polling registered in Udupi district Till afternoon

Udupi: Enthusiastic voters were seen queuing outside the polling stations across Udupi district for the state Assembly elections on Saturday, May 12. The district witnessed 63.39 percent voting till 3pm.
The percentage of voting till 3 pm in each Assembly constituency was as follows: Byndoor – 63.50%, Kundapura – 63.74 %, Udupi – 63.56%, Kaup – 63.57% and Karkala – 64.54 %.
Long queues could be seen in the rural areas and some of the urban polling centres. In rural areas, voters were seen queuing up even before the voting began at 7:00 a.m. Urban voters initially seemed less enthusiastic compared to their rural counterparts.
Polling was peaceful across the district except for some incidents of technical errors in the EVM.
The people of Naxal affected areas came out interestingly to exercise their franchise in the district.
Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt too exercised his franchise at North High School. Later speaking to reporters, he said the right candidate must come to power. He also appealed to everyone to cast their vote as every vote can make a difference.
