8-year-old Leopard Trapped in Pamboor, Released

Udupi: The Forest Department officials trapped an 8-year-old male leopard at Pamboor in Udupi on Tuesday, August 7.
The leopard had created a sense of fear among the people of the village since the past many days. Forest officials set up a cage to trap the leopard. The Villagers had informed the Forest officials when they noticed a leopard in the Pamboor area last week.
A cage was set up in the area two days ago after the Forest Department received complaints from the people of the surrounding area. A dog was placed in the partitioned portion of the cage to lure the leopard. On Tuesday morning, villagers noticed the leopard trapped in the cage and was struggling to get out of it.
The locals then informed the forest officials who immediately reached the spot and took the leopard. A large number of people had gathered at the spot after hearing the news.
The leopard is said to be around 8-years-old and has sustained bruises while trying to escape from the cage. The leopard was later released in the reserve forest.
