Mangaluru: Children are considered to be the nation’s future, and Ebrahim Qureshi, an 8-year-old boy wonder and a grade 3 student, has proved this statement correct. The truth is that technology changes so fast that it does not matter if you have studied Software Development at the university if you are not continuously updating your knowledge. Ebrahim Qureshi has successfully cleared the Microsoft 98-383 exam and with that became the Youngest Microsoft Certified Web Developer (certificate number# H452-7951). When you like what you do, no matter how difficult it may be, you will find pleasure in the activity, as Apple CEO Tim Cook had pointed out in some interviews. Everybody has abilities, but sometimes these do not correspond with the passion that the person thinks they have. That does not mean that if your talent does not communicate to what you love, it’s going to be the end of the world. Everything depends on the person, their level of perseverance and their rhythm of learning! For Ebrahim, it took four months to prepare for the exam. Ebrahim’s approach was clear; he gave more importance to application usage than theory. He spent most of his time preparing for the exam by creating and designing web pages instead of memorizing concepts.
8-year-old Ebrahim Qureshi
Ebrahim developed an interest in computers at a very young age and was amazed by some animations he saw on a random website. His father supported his curiosity and first taught him how to play with colours using HTML and CSS. He was immediately hooked and wanted to learn more. The first year while Ebrahim worked on his typing speed, he spent his time doing exercises on sites like w3school & FreeCodeCamp and creating simple forks on CodePen where he was not required to type too much using the keyboard. Within 1 year he managed to achieve speeds of 60 w.p.m. and started coding more efficiently on code editors.
Seen with Dad Irfan and Mom, Mrs Rabiya
Ebrahim is in the III rd grade at Seven Eleven Scholastic School, Mira Road in Mumbai-his dad Irfan Qureshi is an entrepreneur, while his mother, Rabiya Qureshi, is a home-maker. He has a tiny sister, Ayat, who is only 3 months old. Apart from indulging himself into web activities, Ebrahim like sports, taking long walks and playing with electronic gadgets. According to his dad, Ebrahiom sincerely devotes an hour a day for coding practice and on weekends there is absolutely no studying for school or coding. Weekends are reserved by his parents for complete leisure time and Ebrahim spends it playing FIFA, watching cartoons, and enjoying other stuff that any other 8 year old would do. His parents insist that he already has a head start when it comes to learning computer languages and don’t want him to spend too much time studying so that he does not miss out on simple things in life being a kid.
This hotshot young web developer is making a name for himself, and I am amazed by the new talent that’s entering the web world at a young age, where this prodigy is a hotshot currently giving the industry a shot in the arm. The trend is fueled partly by parents who are comfortable with technology and end up exposing their children to it, as well as schools that have started teaching basic computer programming as early as the third grade. Ebrahim also excels in other activities and if you were to visit his school’s (Seven Eleven Scholastic) Facebook page; he is regularly featured in the winners list and has won several prizes in Elocution, Talent Hunt, Sports, Drama, Recitation, Olympiads among others.
In conclusion, 8-year-old Ebrahim Qureshi is no normal kid. For one, He is actually smarter than geniuses such as Apple Inc founder Steve Jobbs and Mark Zuckerberg . He is no less than a child prodigy! Ebrahim is now on his way in learning and mastering different frameworks of JavaScript and loves creating small apps and games for practice.
Team Mangalorean wishes genius Ebrahim Qureshi all success in his future web designing endeavours. You Go Boy!
