9-year-old Tanushree Breaks Guinness world Record in Yoga

Udupi: Tanushree Pitrodi, a 9-year-old student of St Cicely’s High School Udupi created a Gunnies record at the Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Memorial Hall Udupi here on April 7. Her record in the category of the one-minute miracle by doing full body revolutions maintaining a chest stand for one minute by 42 turns was acknowledged by the Guinness world Records.

She brakes the earlier record which was in the name of 13-year-old Palestinian boy Mohamed Al-Sheikh. He did 38 turns in February 2017.

Swapnil Daagre, a representative of the Guinness World Records, witnessed her performance and handed over the certificate.

Tanushree was born in March 2009 to electrical contractor Uday Kumar and homemaker Sandhya of Pitrodi near Udyavar. Last year she created a record in the category of ‘One-minute miracle’ by doing ‘Niralamba Poorna Chakrasana’ 19 times which was acknowledged by the Golden Book of World Records. She learnt dance when she was three and a half years old. She has 269 stage shows across the state to her credit.

Dedicating the record to the people of India Tanushree said, “With the continuous support of my parents, I have succeeded to create this record. I am practicing Yoga every day and will also continue. I get full support and encouragement from my parents and my sister Ruthu. I want to make my family proud”.
