Bow Bow.Meeow.Meeow! 5 St Aloysius College Girls from Dept of Journalism Encourage People to Adopt Desi Pups & Kittens during an “Adoption Camp” in association with ‘Love 4 Paws Trust ‘ on Sunday, 18 August at Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work, Mangaluru.
Mangaluru: For Desi Pups and Kittens With Love!- Five girls namely- Angel Pratibha Jathanna, Karen Hezron, Nelima D’Souza, Pabiola Pinto and Ashwini Hoode, all students of Department of Journalism III rd year at St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, as per the direction of their lecturer Fr Pradeep SJ, joined hands with “Love 4 Paws Trust”- an NGO which takes care of stray pups/dogs, kittens/cats, in organizing an “Adoption Camp” for Desi Pups and Kittens, on Sunday, 18 August at Roshni Nilaya School of Social Service, Mangaluru from 10 am till 5 pm.
It’s time to adopt a pet. After successful Adoption camps organized by “Love 4 Paws Trust”, yet another camp to promote the adoption of more Indian mongrels was organized today by joining hands with a bevy of students from St Aloysius College. Today’s camp not only had puppies for adoption but a few kittens also, who were anxiously waiting to find a caring home for them. A time to play with the puppies and kittens was also arranged, where children could have a nice time playing with the furry ones.
The initiative of these five animal lovers of SAC, the Camp was set with an aim for pet adoption and provide inspiration to people to come forward and give strays and homeless animals the ultimate home life with loving care. The 5-girl team was all determined to move further and their main goal was to give their valued time, energy and attention to these helpless animals- and they have done the right thing, for the best teachings of all religions are sympathy, love and kindness towards innocent creatures. A talk on “Animal Exploitation” by an Animal Rescuer & Social Activist was held at the Roshni Nilaya, where youth were motivated to show love towards Stray animals, and not ignore them.
It’s nice to note that these girls along with the NGO have come forward to care for these stray pups and kittens. Mangaloreans should start showing sympathy towards these desi pups/kittens so that they find a loving and caring family that would give them a second and better life. They are low maintenance as they don’t require much on medical expenses and grooming like brushing, shampooing or special dog food and tonics that a pedigree dog will need. A street dog is just as much loyal, playful, loving, protective just as any other pedigree. They will die protecting you and your family and will NEVER hurt anyone in your house. They can be trained and will listen to every command.
Due to severe financial and infrastructural constraints, as it’s quite a hard for an individual or even organization to provide a shelter for all. If each one of us were to adopt one stray or homeless animal, the number of those without shelter would become negligible. Many Indians love their pets, so much so, that they’re more like family members to them. And, while a majority still tries to buy expensive breeds, there is a rising number of those who prefer to adopt and not shop, for Desi breeds. Don’t Shop…ADOPT. Play with the homeless animals and experience the joy if you wish to.
So, Why Spend Big Bucks on ‘Pardesi’ (Foreign) Breed Pups, When You Can Adopt Cute ‘Desi’ Pups for FREE. Let the vision of Mangaluru be “Mangaluru with No abandoned Animals-and let all Animals have a lovely home and family”. And if you are looking to adopt a cute pup or a kitten, you can call Ms Usha Tharanath- 7204995440 of “Love 4 Paws”!
Thanks for their love and dedication for these innocent animals. A big salute..
Thanks for taking up a great initiative to protect kitten and puppies. Everyone should start supporting this with a positive note. If stray animals get such love and care then they won’t be roaming on roads for food and will live happily and share their love with all of us.
