Kundapur Traders decide Self-regulated Lockdown from July 13-31 after 2 pm
Kundapur: Following the increase in coronavirus positive cases, in the district, the traders in Udupi district have decided for a self-regulated lockdown from July 13 to 31 every day from 2 pm in the Kundapur Municipality limits.
Speaking at a press meet in Kundapur Sridhar P S a member of the association said that, due to the spike in positive coronavirus cases every day in the district, about 150 shopkeepers within the City limits have decided to shut down their shops every day after 2 pm. The self-regulated lockdown will start from July 13 and continue up to July 31.
We don’t want to risk the lives of our customers’. Last week, we saw an increase in the coronavirus positive cases in the district. We have decided to close down our businesses from 2 pm every day voluntarily. Traders have decided to carry out their business from 6 am to 2 pm only.
Only milk shops, pharmacies, doctors’ clinics and emergency services will be allowed during the shutdown period. Sridhar PS said, adding the decision was taken to break the chain of transmission of the virus.
Satish Shet, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Hussain Haikady, Abhu Mohammed, Tabrez, Santhosh, Sathish Hegde, Jaswanth Singh, Surendra Shet and others were present.
