Mangaluru: Student Dies in Bike Accident near Netravati Bridge 

Mangaluru: A student died on the spot and another was seriously injured when their bike crashed into a metal railing on the side of the road near the Netravati Bridge on Friday evening.

The deceased, Salman Faress (19), was a resident of B.C. Road and a student of a private college in Konaje. The injured rider, Mohammad Shakir, has been hospitalized.

According to eyewitnesses, the bike was heading from Konaje to Mangaluru when the accident occurred. The impact of the crash was so severe that both riders were thrown onto the road, suffering serious injuries. Salman Faress died on the spot, while Mohammad Shakir was rushed to the hospital.

This is the second fatal accident in the area in two days. On Thursday evening, a tempo loader had crashed into a pedestrian, Adam, a middle-aged man from Farangipete, killing him on the spot.

The Mangaluru South Traffic Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
