A J Hospital Observes World Cancer Day
Mangaluru: Department of Community Medicine, & Department of Oncology, AJ Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre in association with Indian Cancer Society and Rotary Club of Mangalore central observed the WORLD CANCER DAY on the theme “I am and I Will” with series of events last week.
Vice President, Prashanth Shetty, Dean Dr Ashok Hegde, Vice deans of medical college Dr Francis N P Monteiro and Dr Mohandas Rai, Principal of dental college Dr Raghavendra Kini, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Sachidanand, ICS coordinator Shaila Lobo, Dr Brig. Hemanth Kumar, HOD, Community Medicine and other heads of various departments, professors, staff and students were present at the closing ceremony. Under the leadership of Dr Chethana Rao & Dr Sajjan Madappady (Assistant Professors, Community Medicine, AJIMS & RC, Mangalore) all the cancer awareness programs were held at various places of Mangalore & BC road.
An awareness skit & Street play on “Awareness of Cancer” was done by MBBS students & Interns of AJIMS&RC.
