There are three types of learners. 1. Visual learners, 2. Auditory learners, 3. Kinesthetic learners

A student who belongs to the kinesthetic type will learn by implementing the concepts physically. These type of students will best benefit from experimental learning, says Bhat, who has thirty years of teaching experience. As the number of kinesthetic learners are more, activities like experiments and models are very essential for them to learn easily. These students enjoy learning Science and Mathematics.

Many of Purandar Bhat’s Science and Mathematics models have been recognized and won prizes in the taluk, district, state and inter-state level seminars and competitions. His latest model, the Innovative Parking Board, has won the second prize in the Southern India Science Fair-2015 held at Thrissur, Kerala. It was jointly organized by The Directorate of Public Instructions, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and the Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum Bangalore. His model was well appreciated and awarded by Prof. Samar Bagchi, former director of National Council of Science Museums.

What is Innovative Parking Board?

Innovative Parking Board helps people to park as you wish in their small car parking area. In cities, a vehicle entering from congested parking area of the house into the main road is mostly in reverse gear and is always dangerous. In order to park and take out the vehicles comfortably this unique parking board is of immense help to modern city dwellers if installed. It also saves fuel, energy and land space. This board can be easily rotated by using only minimum muscle power. Purandar Narayan Bhat has invented the model which can be practically used under his guidance. The space under the board can also be used for underground tanks and rain water harvesting pits, he says. This innovative board model has attracted many state level scientists, engineers and lecturers in Southern India Science Fair 2015 (SISF at Thrissur). This parking board can be used for parking small cars. The board is cost effective as it can be constructed by using simple materials. He is also ready to guide anyone who is interested.

His working model Petrol Engine was also exhibited in the year 2012 at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh and at Doddaballapur in Karnataka and was recognized by many interested people and students. His model Geo Board in geometry has more than 20 learning points and easy to understand theorems in activities form. This model had also attracted many students and teachers in Trichy and Kolar earlier.

Many of his models are based on Newton’s law, Charle’s law, Boyle’s law, etc. and he is teaching his students using this. The children learn easily by playing with these models. He is also a resource person in Sullia taluk of D.K. district, inter district and Karnataka State level science learning activities.
