A Rally to bring Change in Millions of Kids-at-Risk across India
Mangaluru: Speaking to Team Mangalorean, Manikya Das-Public Relations Fellow, Make A Difference, Mangalore Chapter said, ” Make A Difference in association with United Bikers of Mangaluru will hit the road this Independence Day in support of Team NanoMADs of the Mongol Rally 2016 as part of their awareness campaign “Rally For Change”. The rally, which flags off at Forum Fiza Mall, will do a circuit around Mangaluru driving through KS Rao Road, MG Road, Nanthoor before circling back via Falnir. At the helm of the rally will be a Tata Nano, the car that the NanoMADs are using to participate in the Mongol Rally. At dedicated pit stops along the way, volunteers of the Make A Difference Mangaluru chapter will perform street plays to educate people on the issues faced by millions of children-at-risk across India.
The event will come to a close at the Forum Fiza Mall where it will be capped off with a mini bake sale, where delicious pastries prepared specially for the event by Mariam Mohiudeen’s Baker’s Treat (don’t miss out on the Freedom Cake!) will be sold. Families can also entertain themselves at a photo booth, posing with the NanoMADs’ car. They also promise a surprise for all those gathered at the mall. Interested patrons can head to Forum Fiza mall at 11 AM. All proceeds from the event will go towards Make A Difference.
The Mongol Rally is a grueling pan-European rally where teams from all over the world risk their lives to raise funds for a charity they would like to support. The two month rally stretches across 18,000kms from UK to Mongolia, passing through 13 countries and crossing 2 continents (Europe and Asia). NanoMADs, comprising of Sunaina Pamudurthy, a Make A Difference alumni, Bhairav Kuttaiah and Binoy John is the first all Indian Team participating in the rally. Riding a Tata Nano specially designed for the grueling journey and sponsored by Tata Motors, the team set off on the two month endeavor in mid-July and is expected to cross the Russian Border on 15th August. Make A Difference serves as the team’s charity partner and all funds raised by the team will go towards the support of MAD’s child centric projects.
