Absconding Accused under POCSO Act Sahul Hameed Arrested
Mangaluru: The Anti-rowdy squad on July 23 arrested an accused who was absconding and wanted in several cases in various police stations.
The arrested has been identified as Sahul Hameed alias Sahul alias Ami (33).
According to the police, Sahul Hameed was wanted in a murder case, POCSO act, assault and theft cases in Bantwal, Konaje and Mangaluru Rural and Mysuru K R Nagar Police station.
In the Konaje police station, a case was registered against him under the POCSO act and he was arrested. Later after being released on bail, he has been absconding without appearing before the court. The court had issued a warrant to arrest Sahul Hameed.
On July 23, the anti-rowdy squad of Mangaluru South Sub-division succeeded in arresting Sahul Hameed.
Under the directions of Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil and the able guidance of DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime and Traffic Lakshmi Ganesh and the able leadership of ACP Mangaluru South Sub-division Kodandaram, the operation was carried out by the Anti-rowdy squad.
