Abu Dhabi: Koosamma Shambu Shetty Memorial UAE Open Badminton League Tournament 2015 Inaugurated

UAE: The tournament organized in memory of late Koosamma Shambu Shetty, Mother of Padmashree Dr B R Shetty began with a warm welcome accorded by Ramesh Panikar, President of ISC Abu Dhabi, on Thursday, 8 Oct 2015 at 9:00 pm at the Indoor Auditorium, ISC, Abu Dhabi.

Gen Sec. Salam invited all the dignitaries to the dais. He also briefed on motherly love and affection which he compared to Dr Shetty’s mother who was very generous and kind and who advised Dr B R Shetty to do charity work and succeed. “Today if Dr B R Shetty has reached the top of the ladder and helped numerous people and communities it is because of late Koosamma Shambu Shetty’s blessings and advise that Dr B R Shetty has followed and kept his word to his mother to help others,” he added.

Dr B R Shetty thanked each and every one for their whole hearted participation. He also thanked India Social & Cultural Center Abu Dhabi Committee Executives for organizing the wonderful Koosamma Shambu Shetty Memorial Badminton Tournament and prayed for the blessings of his late mother on each and every one.

Abu Dhabi: ISC Banquet – Well Wishers Meet 2015 Held

The ISC Banquet  – Well Wishers Meet 2015 was held at the ISC main auditorium at 9:30 pm. The programme was compered by Dr Aparna.

Hon. President ISC Ramesh Panikkar thanked all the sponsors for their support for the success of all the events held at the India Social and Cultural Center Abu Dhabi UAE.

A souvenir “Inda Feast 2015” was symbolically released on the occasion by Dr B R Shetty Chairman NMC UAE which was followed by a classic evening by renowned Musician of International fame, Gopi Kamath accompanied by Sudakshina Mukherjee.

It was a journey into the evergreen melodies, an evening full of songs of the Golden Era of Bollywood. It was a marvelous musical evening bringing back the memories of the top playback singers like Talat Mehmood, Hemant Kumar, Geeta Dutt, Surayya, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bonsle, Rafi, Mukesh and Kishore Kumar. The famous songs of 1950s, 60s and 70s were also sung.

The hall was jam packed with music lovers and the audience enjoyed the musical evening refreshing their memories of the golden songs of various singers.
