ABVP to Hold Protest against MU over Errors in Degree Results

Mangaluru: “The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad will stage a protest on February 11, against the confusion in announcing the results of Degree students”, said the State organising member of ABVP Hitesh Bekal in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on February 9.

Addressing the mediapersons Hitesh said, “Results of the students who have appeared for the third semester in 2015-16 and 2016-17, have not been announced. Some having completed their graduation, even after one year have not yet received their graduation certificate. Students who have completed graduation and trying for the job or want to apply for higher studies are facing problems. Lecturers have also sent letters to the Mangalore University asking for clarifications for the delay in issuing certificates but there is no response from MU. The Chancellor, vice-chancellor and the registrar (Evaluation) are directly responsible for putting the students in trouble.”

Hitesh further said, “Earlier the University was charging Rs 60 to announce the result of a student and the students were getting their result on time but now the charges are also doubled and there is a lot of confusion during results. There are 210 colleges under the Mangalore University and more than 85000 students are pursuing their education. For every semester the University is spending Rs 1.2 crore to announce the result by outsourcing which has led to the confusion. ABVP condemns such practices since every day is very valuable in the life of the student. This year too the mistake has been repeated while announcing the results, the University has assured of announcing the results on February 18. The Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and the registrar are directly responsible for creating the confusion during the announcement of results. ABVP demands the resignation of all the three persons from the University.”

Hitesh also said, “On February 11, we will hold a protest in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts. In the coming days we will hold a signature campaign, “University Chalo”, and also the ‘All College Bandh”.

Pramodh Bantwal, Mohith, Chethan Padil, Anushka Kottari, Sheetal Kumar and others were also present.

RSS student wing ABVP should also consider protesting against Delhi University and Gujarat University issuing fake degrees to some of our Ministers.
