Accused Jonas Taken to Crime Spot for investigation, Shreemathi Shetty’s Vehicle Key Found
Mangaluru: The accused in the brutal murder of Shreemathi Shetty was taken to the spot where the body parts and vehicle was found by the Kadri Police on May 18.
Jonas and his wife Victoria had brutally murdered Shreemathi Shetty on May 11 and disposed her body parts at various places in the city. Shreemathi Shetty’s head covered with the helmet was found in a gunny bag near Kadri park area. Her body was found near Koti Chennaya circle and her limbs were found near an Ashram School near Padua College.
On May 18, the Kadri police took Jonas to all the crime spots for investigation. In Nagori the key of the victim’s two-wheeler which was abandoned by Jonas was found.
Accused Jonas used Shreemathi Shetty’s two-wheeler to dispose of her body parts and later had abandoned the vehicle in front of a garage and disposed the key under a car. The accused confessed that after parking two-wheeler he had disposed of the key under the car which the police found during investigations.
On May 11, morning Shreemathi Shetty had gone to Jonas’s house to collect the money she had lent to him. Jonas had borrowed Rs 1 lakh loan from Shreemathi Shetty and had returned Rs 40000. Shreemathi Shetty had several times requested Jonas to return the balance amount. On May 11, when Shreemathi Shetty had gone to Jonas’s house, she was brutally murdered by Jonas and his wife Victoria.
The police commissioner had formed three teams of 30 police personnel to nab the culprits behind the brutal murder of Shreemathi Shetty. During investigations, the police got the clue of the murderers and on May 15, when the police approached Jonas’s house to arrest him, he attempted to commit suicide. He was rushed to the hospital and discharged after treatment. The Kadri Police on May 18 took Jonas to all the crime spots for investigation.
