Accused in Puttur Shootout Case Rameez Arrested at Calicut Airport
Mangaluru: The Puttur City police arrested another accused on November 23, at Calicut airport, in connection with the shootout case at Rajadhani Jewellers on 6 October 2015.
According to the police, on October 6, the accused targetting Rajadhani Jewellers fired three shots. The bullets hit the shutter, glass and the walls of the shop. In this case, the Puttur Town police have arrested Mohammed Haneef alias Munna, Kalia Rafiq, Asir alias Abdul Asir and Mohammed Anwar alias Annu. But Rameez Raza Paiya alias Fayaz was absconding and the search was on for him.
On November 23, Rameez arrived at the Calicut airport from Abu Dhabi via Chennai. The Puttur Town police arrested Rameez at the airport.
The Puttur Town police crime section PSI Venkatesh, Head Constable Skaria, Head Constable Narayan and police constable Prashant Rai went to Calicut airport and arrested Rameez. He was brought to the Puttur Town police station and later produced before the magistrate, where he was remanded to Judicial custody.
