Acid Attack on Wife and Relative, Accused Biju Thomas Arrested
Mangaluru: The Puttur Police have arrested a man in connection with the acid attack on his wife and relative at Nelyadi, Uppinangady here, on September 24.
The arrested has been identified as Biju Thomas from Uppinangady.
According to the police, on September 24, Shiny and Zancy were on their way to the rubber farm for rubber tapping. As they reached near Pandibettu, Shiny’s husband Biju Thomas attacked both of them with acid.
After the incident, Biju Thomas fled from the spot. The Puttur Circle Inspector, along with his team, got into action and arrested Biju Thomas from Uppinangady Bus Stand on the same day.
During the primary investigations, it was revealed that there was a misunderstanding between Biju Thomas and Shiny and the accused tried to kill his wife.
A case has been registered under section 341, 504, 506, 326(A) and 307 IPC.
What happened to the ban on availability of acid. It is easily available and this is not going to be the last acid attack that we are going to hear off.
