Mangaluru: The All College Students Association (ACSA) submitted a memorandum to the Inspector General through Additional SP Vedamurthy, at the SP office here on August 31.

PSI-Revati (6)

Submitting the memorandum, State president of ACSA Dinakar Shetty said that the resignation of PSI Revathi should be rejected. PSI Revathi is an inspiration to all the youth, she was working with integrity and transparency. Today’s youth after completing their education are interested in becoming IAS and IPS officers, but the present harassment of officers, especially PSI Revathi is demotivating the students.

He further said that the atrocities on women in the government department are continuing unhindered and in fact, has increased in the police department. In the police department, women are always being targeted by the higher officers. PSI Revathi has been harassed by the senior officer and suspended. If PSI Revathi will not get justice in the coming days ACSA will stage a protest demanding justice. People trust in the police department and the department should strive hard to retain their trust. In the recent past, there were a number of incidents where women were targeted in the police department such as DySP Anupama, Vijaya and PSI Gayatri.

Dinakar urged the Inspector General of police to take PSI Revathi’s case seriously and do justice with her taking action against the officer who had harassed and suspended her from work which led her to resign from the post.
