Action Will be taken against spreading Rumours on Child Kidnapping – Chandra Shekhar
Mangaluru: On November 14, a 10-year-old Madrasa student was stabbed by miscreants but on the social media there were rumours that a gang was trying to kidnap children, this has created panic among the parents.
A WhatsApp message circulated says, “A group is very active in kidnapping children in Kerala and Dakshina Kannada”, Three children were kidnapped in Salethur, Child-lifting gang, Marnabail Kukkaje, Tight police checking, Child-lifting gang is very active in the coastal areas, be careful do not send your children out”, such messages are going viral on WhatsApp.
After reading the messages on WhatsApp some parents are afraid to send their children out. The WhatsApp message has created fear among the people of Dakshina Kannada.
After the message went viral, the police commissioner has strictly warned that anyone who is trying to create fear in the society will be punished severely. Whoever is circulating such messages which create fear, and inciting messages which destroy the peace in the society, strict action will be taken against them.
