Adyar GP Member Dies in Hospital after Group Attacks Him
Mangaluru: A 45-year-old Adyar Gram Panchayat member died in the hospital after a group attacked him at Adyar here on July 10.
The deceased has been identified as Yaqoob (45) from Adyar Padav.
According to sources, on July 10, at around 9:00 pm, a group of men attacked Yaqoob. Yaqoob had identified one of the group members who had assaulted him and went to the police station to file a complaint. After Yaqoob came home from the police station, he developed chest pain.
Yaqoob, along with his son, went to Highland hospital by an autorickshaw where he succumbed to his injuries.
It is suspected that personal and political rivalry led to his murder. Based on the complaint, the Mangaluru Rural police have registered a case and are investigating.
