After 2 Weeks Bodies of Gopalkrishna and his Son Nameesh Rai found at Mattu Beach
Udupi: After 14 days, on February 28 the bodies of 46-year-old Gopalkrishna who allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Netravati river along with his 6-year-old son Nameesh were found by the Kaup Police at the Mattu beach.
The deceased Gopalkrishna Rai (46) and his son Nameesh Rai (6) were residents of Baltila, Bantwal.
On February 28 evening, locals found the bodies of a boy and middle-aged man on the Mattu beach and immediately informed the Kaup Police. A gold chain and injury marks were found on the bodies.
Kaup Police inspector Rajshekar Saganur and his team rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the mortuary for post-mortem.
On February 29, the family members of Gopalkrishna Rai arrived to Udupi and confirmed the identity of the bodies.
Gopalkrishna Rai along with his wife and son had attended the family Nemotsava in Pavoor, Konaje on February 16. At 2:30 am, Gopalkrishna Rai along with his son Nameesh went out by car and never returned. Early morning the family members searched for Gopalkrishna and his son Nameesh everywhere but were unable to trace them.
On February 16 morning Gopalkrishna Rai’s car was found parked near the Netravati bridge. It was suspected that Gopalkrishna along with his son might have jumped into the river. A death note was also found in the car.
The post-mortem was held at the District Government Hospital Ajjarkad, Udupi and the bodies were handed over to the family members.
