Ajekar Police Arrest Three inter-state Accused

Udupi: The Karkala Police have arrested the accused In a case of cheating involving lakhs of rupees by swapping ATM cards, at Marne village’s Kaaduholé police checkpoint on September 24.

The arrested has been identified as Shravan Sathish Minajagi (27) from Solapur taluk, Pudeep Maruti Ingale (27) from Solapur taluk, Kiran Balu and Chauhan (28) from Indapur taluk, Pune district.

The police have seized a Car worth ₹4 lakh, ₹70,000 cash, and ATM cards from various banks a total worth of ₹4,85,000 from the accused.

On September 16, the accused swapped the ATM card of Hani D’Souza, a resident of Bondel, while withdrawing the money the accused diverted his attention and withdrew ₹1 lakh at Ajekar Town ATM. A case was filed at the Ajekar Police Station in this regard. Investigating officers successfully arrested the accused.

The accused, from different states, would travel and target individuals withdrawing money from ATMs. They’d distract victims, swap their ATM cards with fake ones, and withdraw lakhs of rupees from other ATMs.

Udupi SP Arun K., additional SPs Siddalingappa S.T., and Parameshwara Hegde led a successful operation under DYSP Aravind N. Kallaguddi’s guidance. Karkala Circle Inspector Manjapppadi R., SI Ravi B.K., and Ajekar Police Station team – SI Shubhakar, Satish Belli, Pradeep Shetty, Nagesh, Praveen Kumar, Basavaraj Bhadra Shetty, Sashikala, and District Police Office’s CDR team members Nithin and Dinesh participated.
