AJIMS and Research Centre holds ‘TB Quiz’ on World TB Day
Mangaluru: A J Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with District Tuberculosis Office, Mangaluru celebrated the WORLD TB DAY (World Tuberculosis Day) on the theme “IT’S TIME: END TB”, on 22 March 2019 at AJIMS & RC, Mangalore.
The Quiz Competition which was conducted on World TB Day for the Medical Students was inaugurated by Dr Ashok Hegde, Dean AJIMS & RC, Mangalore. Brig (Dr) Hemant Kumar, Head of the Department, Community Medicine gave the message of World TB Day 2019.
More than 100 MBBS Students participated in the initial round of the Quiz. Different teams were selected for the final round of the quiz. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the TB Quiz at the end of the programme.
An Audio Visual show directed by Dr Pradeep Senapathi, Associate Professor and Dr Sajjan Madapady, Assistant professor, Department of Community Medicine, AJIMS & RC, Mangalore was screened as part of Awareness of World TB Day 2019.
Awareness Street Plays were conducted at the Government Taluk Hospital, Bantwal and Primary Health Centre, Sajipa by the Students of AJIMS & RC under the leadership of Dr Chethana in regard to the World TB day celebrations. A number of people attended the street play programme in Bantwal and Sajipa.
Various programmes will be held by the Department of Community Medicine, AJIMS & RC in collaboration with the District Tuberculosis Office, Mangaluru in the coming days in regard to the World TB Day 2019.
