Ajjarkad Govt hospital Upgraded to District Hospital – Pramod Madhwaraj
Udupi: Minister for Sports, Youth and Fisheries and also district minister in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj said that the state government has upgraded the Government Taluk Hospital Ajjarkad to District hospital.
He made an official announcement after inaugurating the national-level Ayurveda day organised by the district administration and Ayush department at Ajjarkad here on October 28.
Although Udupi district came into being 18 years ago, the government hospital here has not been upgraded from the taluk hospital to the district hospital. I took up the matter with the Chief minister and he gave the order to upgrade the hospital from taluk to district hospital on 27 October. Now we will try to increase the strength of doctors and nurses and also meet other requirements as early as possible, he added.
There are no side effects with ayurvedic or traditional medicines. “For most of the ailments, there is a permanent cure with ayurvedic and traditional medicines,” he said.
Priyanka Mary Francis CEO Udupi Zilla Panchayat presided over the function. District Surgeon Dr Madhusudan Nayak, Ayurveda Federation president N T Anchan, Ayush Officer Dr Alakananda were present.
It is not enough to simply name a 60 plus year old run down
government hospital in Ajjarkad to a Udupi District Hospital,
without renovating and refurbishing the entire hospital, and
bring it to the medical expertise level of Kasturba Medical Hospital.
The poor also do not visit this hospital because of everything
that is lacking in this facility.
