All-India Inter-University Men’s Kho-Kho Championship Begins in Udupi
Udupi: Sporting achievements are a hallmark of a healthy society. We must strive to build a healthy society by fostering a culture of sports in the country. This should be our priority as we aim to host the Olympics for the first time in India in 2036, stated former police officer K. Annamalai.
The inaugural event of the All-India Inter-University Men’s Kho-Kho Championship for the academic year 2024-25 was held today at the newly constructed Shri Vibhudhesha Tirtha Swamiji Indoor Sports Complex, built with German hanger technology, under the auspices of Udupi Poornaprajna College in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education of Mangalore University. When China hosted the Olympics on its soil for the first time, it broke America’s monopoly on the medal tally. Similarly, we should plan to organize the 2036 Olympics with the goal of winning at least 150 to 200 medals by instilling a sustainable sports culture among Indians, he emphasized.
