Alleged Pro-Pakistan Slogans During Congress Vijayotsava, BJP Leaders Approach CP for Action
Mangaluru: As soon as Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to the Police Commissioner Vipul Kumar on May 21 and urged to arrest the culprits who doctored their Vijayotsava video, the BJP leaders also approached the Police commissioner to file a complaint against the Congress leaders.
The complaint has been submitted by Jaya Prashanth from Shaktinagar against “J R Lobo, Ex MLA of Mangaluru City South Constituency; Samarth Bhat; Padmanabha Amin, Ex Corporator and Ramadas Prabhu, Corporator of City Corporation and others.
The complaint that was submitted reads as follows:
“That, the Complainant is a law-abiding and prudent citizen. He ekes his livelihood by serving KMF Mangaluru imbibed with Nationalism and Nationalistic views, he strives for upholding the sovereignty and integrity of the Nation.
The accused are Congress leaders and workers who always indulged in giving pro-Pakistani narratives. On May 19, 2018, at about 5:00 PM the accused celebrated a victory at their office at Kadri, Mallikatta when Yeddyurappa resigned from the post as CM. They formed themselves in an unlawful assembly and started raising slogans against the Govt of India – “Pakistan Ki Jai” – committing a seditious act against the Govt of India and the accused Samarth Bhat at around 5:14 PM, streamed a live video in his Facebook and the same was downloaded by the Complainant and presently the accused Samarth has deleted the same.
While raising the slogan “Pakistan Ki Jai”, they also incited the people gathered in unlawful assembly and bringing hatred, contempt and disaffection against the duly Elected Government established by law. Further, they were also promoting disharmony and feelings of enmity between different groups of the society by raising Pro-Pakistani Slogans.
This is an act of sedition, a heinous crime against the integrity and sovereignty of the Govt of India. If the same is not curtailed in the earliest then anti-national elements might get emboldened and may start repeating the commitment of the said illegal act now and then thereby hurting the feelings of the law-abiding nationalist citizens. While delivering the interim bail order in Kanaih Kumar of JNU under the charges of sedition, High Court of Delhi held that the act of sedition is like a cancer-afflicted to the part of the body, and if same is not nipped in the bud, it will spread all over the body.
Therefore the Complainant prays that, as the accused have committed a heinous crime of sedition against the Govt of India established by the law and are liable to be punished under section 124-A of the Indian Penal Code and also by forming unlawful assembly they have violated the section 144 of the CRPC. Hence stern and stringent action may be taken against the accused in the interest of justice.”
(CD of the video consisting of clippings of the incident is produced)
After watching the video, it appears to be authentic. However, I don’t blame Mr.Lobo for this incident. I’m not a fan of Lobo for his failure to grow beyond his limited religious bias. However, he will never do any anti-national thing. Man is as patriotic as any other Indian. The blame should go to some idiot in the crowd who chanted the questionable thing during celebration.
