Allen Rajesh Vas conferred Presidential Award of Appreciation
Mangaluru: Allen Rajesh Vas, working as Senior Intelligence Officer, Directorate General of Goods & Services Tax Intelligence (DGGI) in Mangaluru Regional Unit was awarded the Prestigious Presidential Award of Appreciation for his Specially Distinguished Record of Service on the occasion of the Republic Day, 2018 and the same is conferred to him today by Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Finance Minister during the Investiture Ceremony & International Customs day held at New Delhi.
In 23 years of distinguished service in Central Excise, Service Tax & Customs and Directorate of GST Intelligence, with his high acumen and exceptional calibre was successful in unearthing tax/duty evasion of Rs 4070.41 Lakh with the recovery of tax amounting to Rs 3012.02 Lakh. He has also played a pivotal role in detecting and investigating 102 cases of evasion involving central excise duty/ service tax amounting to Rs 10070.01 Lakh with the recovery of Rs 3103.29 Lakh.
The officer with his high acumen has detected and investigated high profile tax evasion cases spread all over India. His ardent commitment towards his duty, untiring zeal and consistently high level of performance in every sphere of work characterised by the qualities of intellect and professional competence has earned Allen Rajesh Vas the Prestigious Presidential Award of Appreciation for Specially Distinguished Record of Service.
