All’s Well that Ends Well! ‘Feed Your Fire’ St Aloysius PUC ‘Pre-Unique Fest 2017’- an intellectual and cultural festival of St Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru ends with a Bang!

Mangaluru: All’s Well that Ends Well!-That’s right. Quoting Shakespeare’s words, “But with the word the time will bring on summer, When briers shall have leaves as well as thorns, All’s well that ends well; still the fine’s the crown; Whatever the course, the end is the renown “-all I can say is that the organizing committee members of St Aloysius PUC “Pre Unique” two-day mega fest did a marvelous job by organizing this Fest which was a sheer success, and the curtain came down to say “Adios” to the unique and prestigious “Fest” after a glittering valedictory function, held on Saturday, 11 November at the SAC campus.

St Aloysius Institution has given ample opportunities to the students to take part in various co-curricular activities, sports, also in academics. The Institution has also given a chance to the students of other colleges to participate in various contests, thereby unleash their hidden talents and excel. And now by hosting ” PRE-UNIQUE 2017″ which was an extension of this tradition as the quest for talent spreading its wings and beckoning more talents from other Colleges and High schools. PRE UNIQUE 2017 challenged students with the theme “Feed Your Fire”, during the 2-day mega-fest which started on 10 Nov. and culminated on 11 November. This annual cultural and intellectual fest comprised of various competitions for the students to challenge themselves with. A total of 42 teams comprising of 11 High School Teams and 31 PU College teams participated in this mega event.

‘Feed your Fire’–Pre Unique 2017 was inaugurated by the chief Guest Raj B Shetty, Director, Script Writer and Lead Actor of ’Ondu Motteya Kathe’, where he said that importance should be given to extra-curricular with academics and narrated the story of a fisherman and gave a message to the students that “how we experience life is more important than what we become in life”. The two days of the mega event Pre-Unique 2017 at St Aloysius PU College successfully concluded with the Valedictory ceremony on 11 November 2017 with thrilling performances by SAPUC students. The chief guest Shreya Anchan, the actress who played the lead role in ‘Ondu Motteya Kathe’ congratulated the success of Pre-unique 2017 and expressed her joy in being a part of this Mega Event.

The President of the function, the Principal, Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ appreciated the efforts of the staff and student conveners and also the dedicated staff of the College. He also congratulated the participants and advised them to choose what is right and thus have a great future. He further added, “Glad to note that a total of 42 teams comprising of 11 High School Teams and 31 PU College teams participated in this mega event. This Fest has been a unique Fest to unleash the hidden talents of the students. In life, we may face lots of hurdles- but it is our duty to overcome such hurdles and come out successfully- and you all did it. Failures are there in life, but you all strived hard to overcome them. You all deserve to be praised and honoured for your hard work”.

The Convener, Inas Dias welcomed the Gathering and the Co-Convener John Vishlim delivered the Vote of Thanks. Gracing on the dais were the Finance Officer, Fr John Lang Bosco SJ, Vice Principal, Charlotte D’Souza, the Programme Conveners, Deepthi Rani, Tanya Pais, Vivette Lasrado and the Student Conveners. With 30 PU College level competitions and 12 High School Level Competitions the participants of 31 PU colleges and 11 High Schools gave their best to take home laurels. The overall championship for PUC students was won by St Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru and runners-up was won by St Agnes PU College, Mangaluru. In the High School Category, the overall championship was won by St Agnes High School, Mangaluru and runners-up was won by St Theresa’s High School, Mangaluru. The chief guest and the dignitaries gave away the prizes to the winners amidst a plethora of applause and cheer from the audience.

In conclusion, Pre Unique provided a platform for the students of St Aloysius Institution and also outside high school and PUC students to unleash their talents and excel in their co-curricular activities. Pre Unique was the intellectual and cultural fest which provided the students to perform on a big stage and grow in confidence and talent. This was a Fest that provided an opportunity to match their abilities with others on a competitive platform. The Fest brought together the rich cultural heritage of the country and helped to appreciate the diversity of our nation in order to build a strong India based on equality, fraternity, justice and liberty. Although every one dared to dream, and most of them made their daring dreams come true by winning. Everyone had fun and frolic at the two-day mega Fest “.
