Alumni of MCCS Return & Reconnect to their Alma mater

Nearly 150 Alumni of Mount Carmel Central school- Mary Hill-Mangaluru Return and Reconnect to their Alma mater

Mangaluru: There are two things education at Mount Carmel Central School-Mary Hill, Mangaluru (MCCS) bestows on its students. First the roots to stay grounded and second the wings to fly. As the students have flown far and wide into the world embracing new experiences of life over the past 6 years, it was time to return and reconnect with their Alma mater. In this, the Decennial Year of the school, the Almighty in His own time made the evening possible where about 150 Ex-Carmelites who had left the portals of MCCS since 2011-12 met in the school auditorium to begin yet another journey of oneness despite not being in MCCS physically.

The ambiance was full of cheer, hugs, astonishment as the youthful adults bold and beautiful ushered in two’s, four’s and so on and so forth. Post registration and refreshment, the Ex-Carmelites introduced themselves batch wise about their present status of study during the ice breaking session. Sr. Melissa, the Principal was ecstatic as she welcomed her own Ex-Carmelites. Sr. Carissima, the Administrator addressed the gathering in her short yet crisp talk acknowledging their belongingness to MCCS. The guest of the evening Mr. Manoj Louis, shared his personal experiences of framing an Alumni and the various contributions one can render as an Alumni to their Alma mater and to the society at large.

An executive committee was formed for further planning of the activities of the Alumni. The spot games and the quiz conducted by Ms. Rebecca Albuquerque and Ms. Lolita Lobo made the ex-students wear their thinking caps. The youngsters were made to feel that the best way to move forward is to give back to their Alma mater and the society which the vision and mission of MCCS has enthused them with, in living a life of “Higher and Nobler” each day.

The gathering ended with music, movement and hustle bustle of fellowship which brought to reality the strength of the huge and happy Mount Carmel family. Ms. Safa Suleiman voiced her feelings of gratitude for the wonderful time they had together and Ms. Sowmiya Sumith compered the programme.
