Alva’s Engineering College hosts 5-Day Workshop on ISO Standards

Moodbidri: Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mijar, in association with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Udupi and Bureaus Veritas India (P) Ltd., Bengaluru organized a 5-day workshop and training programme on ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 Standards for engineers, professionals, researchers and contractors. The inauguration of the workshop was held at the MBA Seminar Hall on 29th January. Ashwath Hegde, Founder, EnviGreen Biotech India (P) Ltd was the Chief Guest.

In his inaugural address, Ashwath called upon the institutions to regard ISO Certifications as a quality measure of their effectiveness. He said that the certification would bring about trust and pride in the organization.

Presiding over the programme, Principal, Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dr Peter Fernandes commended the Civil Department for taking the initiative of organizing the event. He stressed that every product should be of great quality so that it can attract customers and said that professional engineers should understand the significance of quality.

Aditya Shenoy compered the programme. Convenor Prof Sanjay gave the introductory remarks. Head of the Department Prof Ajith Hebbar welcomed the gathering and Coordinator Dr Umesh Chandra delivered the vote of thanks.
