Alva’s Institution Holds Japan Higher Education Interaction Session
Moodbidri: Delegates from two Japanese Universities were invited at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology. The delegation arrived for Japan Higher Education Interaction Session. This delegation was the result of the Japanese government’s mission to invite students from India. This was based on the special strategic program signed between the Indian and Japanese govt.
They spoke at length about the opportunities students get in their university. They spoke about their faculty and admission process. Interested students have to first pick their search proposal and then find a professor in the university they are interested in. Students who are eligible are provided with full scholarships from the government as well as from the respective university. They emphasized on the point that a common research program was necessary to have an MOU between the colleges. The University of Tokyo is one of the top 10 in the world.
The delegates were Dr. Hiroshi Yoshino, Director, University of Tokyo, India office and Dr. Shigeki Ashida, Director, Ritsumeikan India office. They were accompanied by Mr. P N Karant, Honorary secretary, Indo Japan Chamber of Commerce and Trade, Karnataka, miss Sakshi Verma, Assistant manager, Ritsumeikan and Priyanka P Advisor, Higher Education, University of Tokyo, Japan.
