Amit Shah inaugurates social media conclave, BSY calls Rahul Gandhi ‘Bachha’

Udupi: The Bharatiya Janata Party, which is already ahead of its rivals in using the social media to reach out to the masses organized a mega social media conclave of DK and Udupi districts in the city to draw up strategies to net the voters ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.

The social media conclave was held at Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Auditorium here on February 21. The programme was inaugurated by Amith Shah national president of Bharatiya Janata Party. He also launched the official website of the district BJP – www.bjpudupi.org.

Addressing the gathering State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa called AICC President Rahul Gandhi a ‘Bachha’ (kid). “Congress is bringing that Bachha here and campaigning in the state,” Yeddyurappa said adding that BJP would win 150 seats in the elections and come to power again.

He accused the Congress of neglecting the issue of poverty eradication. Even after seven decades of independence, many people live in slums.

“This shows how the Congress cares for the poor people. I don’t say this because of the elections, but because the BJP really wants to do good to the poor people,” he asserted.

He pointed out that the polls would be held in 224 constituencies in April-May.

After BSY’s speech, Amith Shah held a closed-door interaction. The Media was kept out during the interaction.

National BJP secretary Muralidhar Rao, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Shobha Karandlaje, MLA’s Sunil Kumar, CT Ravi, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary and others were present.
