Angana’s brush with action and ballet in ‘7 Naatkal’
Chennai, July 26 (IANS) Actress Angana Roy, who has just completed shooting for upcoming Tamil suspense thriller “7 Naatkal”, is stoked about the project because it gave her an opportunity to indulge in some action and ballet.
“I’m quite excited about the film because the whole story revolves around my character. The role offered me the scope to be involved in some stunts. Even though it’s not hardcore action, I still enjoyed shooting for some chase sequences with extreme precautions,” Angana told IANS, adding that she wished to do more action.
Her character also required Angana to experience ballet dancing.
“The role is such that I was required to learn ballet. It was a quick training session and after nearly half a day of shooting, we shot the song, she said.
A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, Angana didn’t find picking up ballet challenging. However, she had her own inhibitions.
“Ballet is a very different form of dance. I was initially nervous because it involves lifts and throws and twists and turns. One wrong move and you could easily lose control of your partner. Fortunately, Sakthi and I pulled it off easily,” she said.
The story of “7 Naatkal”, directed by debutant Gautham, unfolds during the span of 7 days.
The team has developed a strong sentiment with the number 7.
“The film was launched on the seventh of a particular month. The makers are also planning to release it on the seventh of whichever month it will hit the screens. And this happens to be the seventh project of actor Sakthi,” she said.
The film also stars Nikesha Patel and Ganesh Venkatraman.
Angana, meanwhile, is looking forward to the English-Hindi bilingual project. She says it will be her career’s biggest project.
She also has a film each in Bengali and Telugu in her kitty.
