Anitha Kumaraswamy wins Ramanagara; BJP bastion Ballari set to fall
Ramanagara: JDS’ Anitha Kumaraswamy won the Ramanagaram assembly seat with a margin of 109137 votes today and Congress’s Anand Nayamagouda has won the Jamkhandi assembly seat by a margin of 39480 votes.
While counting of votes in the byelections is still underway, the JDS and Congress combine are all set to clinch the Ballari and Mandya Lok Sabha seats as well. BJP is leading in the Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency alone.
The Karnataka bypolls is seen a crucial test for the ruling Congress-JD(S) coalition for two reasons: one, it is their first test since coming together five months ago and two, it is a prelude to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
