Annual Day Celebrated at St Joseph’s School-CBSE, Bengaluru
Bengaluru : St. Joseph’s School CBSE, celebrated its Annual Day on 23rd November. Fr Balaraju Vice Principal welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Anil Kumar, IAS( Commissioner, BBMP. He was an alumnus of St Joseph’s Indian High School.
Guest Of Honour was Prof S. Japhet Vice Chancellor of Bangaluru Central University. He is a proud Josephite, and he has held unique position of professor and key administrator at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru. He had been the member of the Academic Council, Executive Council, Chairperson of the Post Graduate and Under Graduate Council at NLSIU.
Prof.Japhet, has had experience in engaging with institutions abroad as professor at William and Mary College and William and Mary School of Law, USA, distinguished Visiting-Fellow at Indiana University, USA, Warwick University, UK. He has been invited by Social Science and Law faculty at Duke University, University of Brandeis, Columbia University, New York University in USA and University of Glasgow in United Kingdom, for special lectures. As founding Vice-Chancellor he has initiated major reforms at Bengaluru Central University (BCU).
Professor in his speech spoke about his school life. He also told the audience that what he is today is because of the Jesuit Education which emphasizes on value based education. Fr. Leo Pereira SJ Rector of St Joseph’s Indian Institutions presided over the function and spoke on Jesuit Education. Fr Rohan D Almeida presented the School Annual Report of the bygone year through the Video presentation.
Over 1000 students of the school presented the Dance Drama based on the theme “PARIVARTHAN” – change of Heart towards Nature, fellow human beings. This production brought out the creation story and how we humans through greed have destroying the Universe and how we need to restore peace and reconciliation in the universe. The theme resonated with the mandate of the Jesuits to bring about peace and reconciliation and the top preferences the Jesuit institutions are focusing Caring for the Common Home – the Universe.
The day was filled with the vibrancy and life being propelled into magnificent and reverberating celebrations.) and the programme was presided by Rev . Leo Pereira. The evening commenced with a scintillating invocation Song and Dance. Theme based dances were performed in collaboration with Cornucopia Creations Dance Academy providing a message to save and cherish Mother Earth. Choreography team headed by Janardhan did the splendid Job. The day ended with an astounding visual treat enthralled every spectator present.

Kamal Govindraj PTA messaged saying: “Father, a spectacular show, co – ordinated in a short time. It was a splendid show.”
Samuel one of the parents told that “The Annual day program was very nice. I would like to congratulate all the staff for organizing this spectacular program.”
Vinod T another parent was of the opnion that “Annual day program was awesome Father. Very well organized, sound, lighting all. Kids who were volunteers were also wonderful.”
